Course Description:      
Introduces the physical components and operations of microcomputers. The course focuses on computer literacy and provides hands-on training in four areas of microcomputer application software: word processing, power point presentation, electronic spreadsheets, and database management.
Course Objectives:

1.       Learn about the Windows Operating System

a.      Be able to use Windows to create folders, copy files, format diskettes, delete files, viewing directories, start programs.

b.      Brief introduction to some of windows programs (Notepad, Calculator...)

c.       Brief introduction to some of the programs found in the control panel. 

2.       Learn the software package Microsoft Office XP

a.      Word,   Excel,  PowerPoint, and Access

Textbook:     A Professional Approach Office XP, Hinkle, Stewart, Marple, Cain

Withdrawal:  Termination of class attendance does not constitute official withdrawal.  A class drop authorization must be obtained from Student services, completed by the student, and returned to Student Services.

            Monday - Thursday            8:00am - 8:00pm

            Friday            8:00am - 5:00pm

            Saturday, Sunday            closed
